Dr. David Seil Kim, MD, PhD

Dr. David Seil Kim, MD, PhD, is a board-certified OB/GYN with nearly 30 years of experience in women’s health, advanced surgical care, and medical education. He is widely recognized for his medical leadership and long-standing commitment to clinical excellence.

As the founder of Yunella Women’s Health, a boutique women’s health practice serving Mid City West and greater Los Angeles, Dr. Kim is dedicated to providing patient-centered care that blends modern technology with compassion and continuity.

Dr. Kim earned his BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego and his MD from SUNY Downstate, followed by OB/GYN residency training at George Washington University in Washington, DC. He later completed a PhD in Clinical Research and an MBA through an NIH-funded program, bringing a rare, research-driven perspective to modern women’s health
care.

For 15 years, Dr. Kim served at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he held key leadership roles, including Assistant and Interim Program Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program. He has held academic appointments as Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA and USC and currently serves on faculty at Charles Drew University, mentoring and training the next generation of physicians.

Dr. Kim is locally and nationally recognized for academic, clinical, and physician leadership excellence, with honors including Castle Connolly Top Doctor (2025) and Los Angeles Magazine Top Doctor (2020–2024). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, an ABOG Oral Boards Certifying Examiner, and a recipient of National Teaching Awards from APGO and CREOG, as well as the California Medical Association Foundation Robert D. Sparks Leadership Achievement Award. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

His clinical focus includes advanced pregnancy care, fertility, PCOS, endometriosis, menopause, fibroids, and medical weight management. Dr. Kim empowers women with innovative treatments, advanced surgical expertise, and highly personalized care at every stage of life.
